I have finally taken the time to update this page.  Thanks Cheryl for the push!!!

Christmas and winter items have been put away and inventory counted. Cupboards and counters have been cleaned and made ready for the new primitives, country, repurposed and vintage merchandise as well as American made primitives that will fill the shop.  I feel very fortunate to have found some very talented American artists.

As the days get longer and sun filters into our home, we feel the need to redecorate and rearrange our homes.  Numerous 2015 catalogs arrived showcasing  new curtains, textiles, lampshades, rugs, furniture, Black Crow candles, 1803 candles, home accesories, and so much more. So many ideas that it can be overwhelming.

Once again, I would like to thank all my customers who shop Bittersweet and have made it a destination stop for 30 years.  I truly appreciatate your business and friendship. Hope you can stop by soon!

Get ready for more snow and shoveling!  Snow piles are up to the porch and my sign has almost disappered. It actually feels good to step outside and get some excercise as we have all been a little housebound. Despite all this snowy weather,  Bittersweet has been opened  with plenty of room to park right out front.   I will be closed Wednesday and Thursday this week. Sorry for the inconvenience but I will return on Friday. Greenbriar Florals will be OPEN. Order your Valentine a beautiful bouquet from Greenbriar Florals today. Support your local businesses.

Time for an update which is long overdue. I tend to post pictures on FB and not on this website. I need to remember not everyone uses FB. Bittersweet opened in November 1984 and it has changed slightly over the course of 34 years. Change is always necessary as we must all keep up with the trends but it is still well stocked with primitives, country and vintage. I still love to mix antiques with reproductions as that is where our roots are. I try to purchase American made but that can sometimes be a challenge too. At the end of the day, I am just so thankful to be able to do what I enjoy and share it with so many people. I could write a book on all the generations of families I've met and the complements I receive. Bittersweet has become a destination for young and old. Hope you will plan your next trip to Bittersweet. CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAY.
